Halloween Fun!

We had a wonderful time trick or treating this year with our butterfly, witch and bee. We also had a brown cow join us for a while (aka cousin Owen) as well as LOTS of our neighbors! As you can tell the girls have some candy that will last a while (at least we hope!!)

This is only about a third of their candy!

Carving Pumpkins....

Fun times carving pumpkins...we were exhausted by the time we got to the third pumpkin so Jared just got out his drill and drilled holes in it...Ellie LOVES her "polka-dot pumpkin"...it actually looks really cool when lit up!

Fun times...

Just some random snapshots of the fun they've been having around the house...

Miley Cyrus Concert!!

On October 17th, Tina (our neighbor), took the girls and I to the Miley Cyrus concert! We had floor seats (which were great!) and the girls had a BLAST getting to see Miley "for real"!! We made a stop at crown center and had Fritz's train station for dinner! Thank you SO MUCH Tina...it was absolutely one of the greatest gifts and wonderful time to spend together!

Pumpkin Patch Fun!

The girls got invited to a birthday party at a pumpkin patch and they had a blast playing, going on a hayrack ride and painting pumpkins! It was a perfect fall day!!

Best of friends...

It was a REALLY hard adjustment for Ellie when Emma went to school. They have been playmates as long as they both can remember and of course, they do not know life without each other. This picture is quite common at our house when Emma gets home from school, they spend some time cuddling in the chair...SO cute. I will remind them of this when they are teenagers!

Schlitterbahn....

We are very excited to live SO close to such a BIG waterpark. Schlitterbahn is only half way done but we had PLENTY to do and the girls had SUCH a blast going this summer. Here are some snapshots of some fun we had taking the girls in early September!

Emma's First Day of school....

...was actually over 2 months ago and it is SO hard to believe that it has only been 2 months in some ways!! She has been learning and doing SO MUCH and it is so crazy how quickly they catch on and start putting together all the things we worked so hard to teach her in the first 5 years of her life. She is bringing home books and reading them to us and I just never imagined that she would be doing this already. First report card wasn't so great...we felt like failures as parents actually. Jared and I didn't know she should have been reading BEFORE Kindergarten SO it has been a busy two months working really hard with her to get her "caught up". She got her newest report card last week and she had a wonderful report so we are starting to "back off" a little. SO....that also explains my lack of keeping up on blogging! But I have new motivation. I found a website that will print blogs (YEAH!!) so I'm going to get a book printed for each girl every year for Christmas since this is the closest thing to scrap-booking I can do for them! So...I will be doing LOTS of catching up on life in the last few months!

Emma in front of her room the night before school started! She was SO excited, she didn't sleep much that night!

This is her desk that she shares with 3 other students

Her colorful classroom...

All grown up...on our way to "back-to-school night"

Emma was excited that one of her best friends from her preschool class was also in her Kindergarten class!!
